Paint Samples

I just had to share this picture of my craft table because it makes me so happy. I have big plans for those paint samples. The cheerful little rainbow makes my day.

Tire Swing

I see this when I stand on my front porch:
I always want to go swing on it, but think that the neighbors might mind.

Day Off!

We get really excited when I actually ever get a Saturday off, so we tend to fill the day with lots of fun things. It was too lovely a day to represent with just one picture so I had to share several. Apparently, the whole day revolved around food.

waffles for breakfast
farmers market
library
antique mall
art museum (where we saw a huge hamburger-looking wedding cake)
+nap

Lace Headband

Since I have been recently sharing a few of my projects, I snapped a photo of a recent headband creation. I don't know if you can tell from the picture, but some of the petals are lace. Sorry, no picture of me wearing it. Are you surprised? I didn't think so.

A Surprise

This isn't the best photo, but I posted the picture because Spencer was so nice to put it in my purse. You see, the last time we went to the grocery store we each picked out one of those eight packs of mini candy bars for a dollar. I picked Snickers because they are my favorite, and Spencer picked Baby Ruth. We have to keep chocolate in the house so I can always get my fix.

Well, I had entirely finished my candy (over a period of two SEVERAL days) but had mentioned that I was craving chocolate. So Spencer slipped his very last Baby Ruth into my purse for me to find later in the day.

Now that's love.

White

Here's the white pair of flip flops. White like my legs. They need more sunshine in their life. The legs, not the flip flops. Well, probably both actually.

Color Crush

These days I LOVE the color Orange. It is such a cheerful, bold, color that reminds me of summer. You should know that I recently purchased four pairs of flip flops (2 black, 1 orange, 1 white). Lizzy destroyed a couple of pairs when we first got her, and they were only a dollar a pair, so I got a few to dress up. Here's the orange pair. You might recognize those roses from an earlier post :).

This Is What Monday Looks Like

Monday is often my day off. If I have the time, I like to work on a craft project while I watch Spencer on the news. I do love a big creative mess.

Catching Fireflies

My whole life I have wanted to catch fireflies in a jar. It's actually harder than I thought it would be, but after 7 minutes and 16 mosquito bites, I finally caught one. I wish I could have captured an image of how pretty they are all lit up (they're just not very photogenic). I think this is the first time I have ever seen fireflies in real life!

Yard Work Saturday

We spent the whole morning outside weeding and planting flowers. It was hot, but it felt SO GOOD to be outside working hard. I love taking care of our little house.

Blossom

The trees outside our house are so pretty right now. I wish they always looked like this.

A Cheerful Little Stack of Fabric

My friend is teaching me how to make my first quilt. I'm so excited!

Lizzy Baby!

Everywhere I go, this cutie follows me around. On my days off, when I practically live in my craft room, she is always perched at my feet.

A New Project

I have had fun trying to do a lot more crafts but am picking up a new project for the time being. I still like creating a post for every day of the week because I love to look back on what I have been doing, but am still involved in a few big projects which are taking up a lot of my time. So, I have decided to ease off a bit on the daily DIY's and start posting more pictures. So when I look back on my blog I can remember my summer in Wichita Falls. I hope to try and record through photos what our life is like right now. Because we're off on such a huge adventure and I want to remember every detail of it.

So, here is my first post for my "picture a day project" this summer. I will definitely still be doing lots of crafts, but probably will be focusing on just recording experiences for a while. Reading before I go to sleep has ALWAYS been one of my favorite things to do. I'm going to read the whole Anne series over again this summer.
