Love Story

love
Lately, I have been really into reading love stories.  I’ve been doing lots of babysitting and needed something to do during naptime.  I recently re-read Icing on the Cake my favorite chick lit book of all time.  I’ve read it a hundred times.  You haven’t read it?  Go.  Read it NOW.  It is funny and cute.  Plus, Elodia Strain (the author) is super nice.  The sequel Previously Engaged is awesome too.
Then, my friend posted the new Jane Eyre movie trailer on her blog, and after watching it I had to go back and read the book again.  I think the last time I read it was freshman year of high school.  The problem is, I’m almost finished and am on the hunt for another romance novel.  Anything delightfully sappy will do.  Suggestions?

  1. I'm a sucker for almost any of the Rachel Nunes books from Seagull Book or Deseret book. I know you can't get those from the library but if you want I could mail you some to borrow for awhile! Let me know! :) They're all pretty fast and enjoyable reads! I could really mail them to you if you want!
I'll have to keep thinking to see if I can think of any more!
Also, I loved your post from yesterday. You are so inspiring and your photography is absolutely beautiful.

  2. YOu should get on goodreads.com, if you haven't already and keep track of all the books you read plus you can look at what your friends read and get ideas from them (if they like the same type of lit). I'm going to have to look up that book you listed above...after I'm done with the 15 books I've got at home... :)

  3. I think Marcia Lynn McClure is the best romance writer EVER! My absolute favorite is "The Highwayman of Tangelwood" but really, all of her books are wonderful. Some other great suggestions, by her, are "Shackles of Honor", "The Whispered Kiss", "Heavenly Surrendor", I could just go on and on!
Another author I just discovered is Dorothy Keddington, but suddenly the only books I can think of are "Flower of the Winds" and "Return to Red Castle". I think she has like 6-10 books out.
I don't get on goodreads.com often, but when I do, I love it. I just don't get on often because its just one more place online and I seem to stay busy on blogger and facebook. :p

  5. These Is My Words is SO GOOD. It's about a pioneer-era woman, but she is super spunky. It's not a typical romance, but the marriage in the book is so so so sweet and captures real life perfectly. It is one of my favorite books ever. I don't think you will regret reading it!!
