I Don’t Believe You’ve Met

I didn’t want to show pictures of these until AFTER I had given them away as gifts.  Well, they made their way to their new homes long ago, and I completely forgot to show them off here.
Better late than never?

I constantly go back and forth on whether or not I should try to sell my creations.  I like making things.  It could be a fun way to earn a little extra money.  But on the other hand, I worry it might just take the fun out of it.  I hate mass producing stuff.

I think people might buy them… I even sold the necklace right off my neck one time!  I always get compliments on my handmade accessories.  Then again, I don’t know if I really could make a go of it.  There are so many make-it-and-sell it entrepreneurs out there right now.  I don’t want to have to compete.  That really would take the fun out of it for me.  I just want to make what I love because I love it.  I don’t want to have to compare my product to someone else’s and fight to be seen.  Bleh.

I think for now, I’ll just be content making and wearing, and sometimes gifting my trinkets and what-nots.

  1. Wowee! Those are all SO cute! It's totally true what you're saying! You could easily sell them and people would just love them!! Somehow it seems to take a lot of the joy out of creating when worrying about the business side of things though. Tough call! If you decide to sell I think they'd be a major hit, but if not keep creating because it makes you happy and they are beautiful!

  2. I agree. I LOVE making stuff and I probably could sell it, but I don't want to do that full time. I make stuff because I enjoy it. If I suddenly had an order for 50, it'd be too much pressure and I wouldn't love it anymore.

  3. I like your trinkets and what-nots. I often look at them and say to myself "Self, you should make something like that." But then reality steps in and I never have enough time and my $10 month craft budget gets eaten up by other things.

I admire people who sell things, but I, like you, feel like there is too much competition going on with etsy. Some people have super cute stuff but it's not much different than the next persons.

  4. I love your creations! I wish I had creativity in me, but alas I resort to purchasing the creative... uh creations of other people's creativity. Wow. How many times can a person use the word creative? Lots, aparently.
